Picking up the pieces
People have been telling me that they hope I can pick myself back up from this. Truth is, for me, it’s not about picking myself back up. I am up. I’m right here, a little scratched but safe. I have been through worse and this really is nothing compared to the past nine years. Don’t worry about me. I want to scream loud enough so everyone can hear me. I’m okay.

Today I went running
when it started to rain softly. Usually, I would have started to run a little faster. But today, I put my iPod away in my pocket and slowed down. As it sprinkled softly on me, I knew I was being told it’s okay. He was patting my back and telling me it’s okay. So I let the tears I’d been fighting out. I let it all out because I know that with Him, I need not be ashamed.
